There is something truly interesting about filmmaking. From the actors to the setting, directors and screenwriters have to put a lot of thought and consideration behind each and every film produced. Savannah is a wonderful destination for filming, with its breathtaking cobblestone streets and grand oaks. Savannah is no stranger to movie crews and film. Established in 1998, The Savannah Film Festival is hosted by the Savannah College of Art and Design. This fantastic event brings filmmakers, actors, and educators to the city for eights days of film viewings, conferences and lectures. More than 40,000 people attend the Festival. This is definitely the place to channel your inner film buff and savor the cinematic creativity the festival holds.
At the Savannah Film Festival over 90 premiere film screenings will give you an array of opportunities to see amazing independent films. From big names to local film students at SCAD, the Festival is for everyone wishing to share his creativity. Throughout the Festival are Q & A sessions hosted by directors, actors, and writers of some of the biggest films of the year.
