Whether you want to go all-out with a hula skirt or simply take a relaxing stroll down River Street, a trip to the Savannah Seafood Festival is the perfect way to celebrate the start of summer.
What You’ll See at the Savannah Seafood Festival
Arts & Crafts
A juried arts & crafts show takes place each year at the Savannah Seafood Festival and features paintings, drawings, ceramics, digital art, fiber, jewelry, photography, sculpture, woodworks, glassworks, and more from over 30 local artists. Feel free to peruse a variety of coastal-inspired pieces, or enjoy interactive art like face painting and caricature drawing.
First Friday Fireworks
On Friday, May 6th, festival-goers can head to Rousakis Riverfront Plaza and enjoy a spectacular fireworks show at 9:30 PM. The fireworks kick off the start of each month and are presented by Wet Willie’s, a popular bar and restaurant known for their fabulous frozen cocktails.
The festival’s main attraction is, of course, seafood, so be sure to come hungry! Guests can enjoy indulging with a variety of fresh-caught eats like shrimp, crawfish, oysters, and crab from some of the most prominent Savannah seafood restaurants, including Joe’s Crab Shack and Shrimp Factory. The food booths will be located across from the stage on Rousakis Plaza.
The Savannah Riverfront
In addition to the festival, the historic Savannah Riverfront is an area staple in its own right. The Riverfront offers spectacular views of the water and is lined with century-old buildings that house fabulous art galleries, world-renowned restaurants, exciting bars and pubs, and one-of-a-kind shops. During the festival, you can enjoy a stunning backdrop of the Talmadge Bridge as well as the sights and sounds of ships coming down the river. This area also hosts over 15 festivals each year, so there is always something to do when you visit!
